I find it !disturbing that @psquid‘s dents use “smart quotes.”
-
@vanden So do I. As best as I can gather, they get auto-converted by the Textile plugin on this instance, which is otherwise convenient.
-
Then hack the shit out of that motherfucker. I mean fix, of course.
-
@speeddefrost I think @windigo is already working on that. I’ll poke him again. :p
-
I remember I was supposed to be looking at something textile related… better check the #notetoself posts from yours truly. :D
-
Actually, it initially came up for double equal signs – which, ironically, is the code that tells textile to leave a string unformatted. o_O
-
So, in theory, "the following sentence shouldn't have fancy dancy quotes"
-
@psquid Okay, so that works. But how the devil do I get an actual double-equals? :/
-
@psquid Testing, testing. ==
-
@windigo I need three times the = signs just to get a double-equals. This is rather suboptimal. :(
-
@windigo So, basically, kick out the smart quotes full stop, and see if the double-equals stuff can be made saner; if not, kill it too.
-
I’ve been able to disable the fancy quotes pretty easily – just commented a couple lines – but still looking for ==. Will test soon.

@windigo “Testing, testing.”

@lnxwalt Godspeed.
