My new mac mini http://jonkulp.dyndns-home.com/micro/attachment/5804
-
@jonkulp new SN server ?
-
@jonkulp you bloody hipsters with your Apple products.
-
@jonkulp Have you checked the back of your garage? I think goodwill is using it like a FIFO stack and just selling you your stuff back! :P
-
@sandersch yeah but I'm not the chump who paid $700 for it new! :)
-
@nybill hahaha!
-
@theru don't know yet. It only has 40GB hard drive. If I put SN on it, it'll probably be the only web app I put on it.
-
@jonkulp bwahahaha, this is hilarious, I was running my instance on an AlphaStation with 10GB of storage for months.
-
@kevingranade yeah, but my SN server also hosts my Piwigo instance, servers up about 80G…
-
My VPS only has ~16GB total - I'd say you could manage it. :D
-
@kevingranade ...and in typical Mac fashion it only has 2 usb ports and a firewire port. I do have firewire enclosure though...
-
@windigo probably, but I hesitate to move SN to different server. If I have 3 servers the port forwarding will get crazy.
-
@jonkulp I have one server I use for fileserving, so I just cram all the big drives in that one and serve it to everything else with smb.
-
@kevingranade I may start planning a setup like that now that I have this thing.
-
We should all pitch in and build a datacenter, using each other's servers as backups.
Kevin Granade likes this. -
@windigo like a private tahoe-lafs grid https://tahoe-lafs.org/trac/tahoe-lafs/wiki/UseCases ?
-
@windigo This has crossed my mind a few times, dwolla did something similar, not sure if there's a FOSS solution.
-
I like the sounds of that...
