God damn, what is with the rampant Yahoo/Hotmail email hacking? Is there an exploit out there or something?
-
@windigo There is a recent flood of click jacking for Android devices via hacked yahoo email accounts. (crackers follow the sheeple)
-
@windigo yeah, its called yahoo/hotmail users!
-
Hmm, the people I know who have had their accounts hacked don't use android devices... and they just end up sending malicious/spam links.
-
I'm not sure that's it - my Mom had an 11 character password when her account was hit.. I would guess they have an XSS/CSRF vulnerability.
-
@windigo That's what I mean. The crackers are taking over yahoo accounts to send out malicious links. Recently its a android exploit.
-
The Yahoo account thing has been going on for about three years. One after another, near constant.
-
@windigo ... and I agree. Most of the ppl who've been sending me phishing spam don't use mobile devices at all.
-
@windigo Possibly. I've been thinking they've been seriously penetrated and just haven't admitted it yet.
-
@windigo It is so pervasive and has continued for so long that I believe the crackers are actually in charge of some Y! servers.
-
Ahhh, I see - that would make sense. It'd be nice if Yahoo could prevent the compromise in the first place!
-
Ha ha ha, well she has been trying to hock some sketchy sounding viagra at the farmers market... :P
-
@windigo I will have you know I deliberately avoided the viagra joke out of respect for your mum. Teaches me to be respectful.
-
@windigo Its as easy as increasing your password by 1 char. The security goes up exponentially. 1234- crackable, 12345 rock solid!
-
I'm sure she'd appreciate it. :D
-
Ha ha ha, I did set her up with a slightly stronger password - although I wouldn't be surprised if I get another link from her soon. :(
-
@windigo I just noticed a spam email from my forgotten yahoo email account was sent to my gmail accoun…
-
I have an old yahoo account with a single entry in the address book - my new account - for the same reason.
-
*damn it! @x1101 has my root password! TO LOCK DOWN MODE*
-
init 1 will not suffice! Sever the Ethernet cable!
-
Physical access is still possible! ENCASE IT IN CEMENT!
-
@nybill my password is much better :-P it's Password123
-
@nybill to the van!
-
@ratfink *hand hovers above the switch... maybe Thermite is overkill then?*
-
AND MAKE SURE IT'S POWERED OFF FIRST, BECAUSE HE COULD STILL COMMUNICATE USING RADIO WAVES!
-
@sandersch I keep everyone guessing and chuckle as my password is blank. Security through obscurity!
-
@windigo A friend of mine put his noisy SCSI drives into a casing inside his concrete floor when the floor was made. :-)
-
I'd want to purposely do something to get myself raided by the police - let's see them confiscate THAT equipment! :D
